SAUDI ARABIA AND PAKISTAN IN SECRET OIL FOR NUKES EXCHANGE.Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler, has been very busy these days. First, at the beginning of September, he formed the largest oil cartel in the world when he signed an agreement with Russia, the No. 2 oil producer in the world (Ref:My Blog of October 15th.). Now, the Crown Prince is looking to make the latest "Weapon du Jour," a Nuclear Weapon, part of the Kingdom's arsenal when he agreed to an exchange of cheap oil for nuclear-weapons technology last week.
Pakistani President Musharraf with Crown Prince Abdullah upon the Crown Prince's Arrival in Islamabad.
This secret "Nuclear Cooperation" agreement has been vehemently denied by both sides, even though the Crown Prince spent 26 hours in Pakistan with an entourage of 200, including the Saudi Foreign Minister and several Saudi cabinet ministers. Strangely, the Pro- American Saudi defense minister, Prince Sultan, was absent from the delegation
In essence, the secret nuke pact will exchange cheap Saudi oil to Pakistan for Pakistan supplying the wherewithal for a nuclear deterrent to the Saudis.
Pakistan is estimated to have between 35 and 60 nuclear weapons. The arch-enemy of the Arab world, Israel, is estimated to have between 200 and 400 nuclear weapons.
Further, besides having all U.S. forces pulled out of the Kingdom and relocated to the tiny sheikdom of Qatar, the Saudis are ripping at a U.S. Defense Policy Board in 2002 that showed how easy it would be for the U.S. to seize and occupy the Eastern Province oil fields of Saudi Arabia.
As the Bush administration runs around the world chasing terrorists and WMDs, proliferation of nuclear weapons is going strong. As always, the universal law of "the harder you try to control something, the more it expands," is a lesson the Bush administration has yet to learn.
