CHINA COMMEMORATES ITS FIRST NUKE EXPLOSION. ARE WE SAFER NOW THAN 40 YEARS AGO? OR EVEN 4 YEARS AGO?
The answer to the above two questions is a resounding NO and NO.

Let's forget about the Chinese anniversary, even though they have suspended their nuclear weapons program since July 30, 1996. Yea, right. If you believe that, I have a wall in China I want to sell you. All China has done is, to use an overused U.S. campaign word, outsourced its weapon technology, in particular to Iran.
But back to the last 4 years. "We're done (at Bushehr,Iran)!", a spokesman for Russia's Atomic Energy Agency (RosAtom)proclaimed last Thursday, October 14.
So, Iran goes nuclear thanks to its strong ally Russia. China also chipped in a significant amount of technology and a special uranium enrichment gas that they sold Iran several years ago. This gas is known as UF6.
China actually sold Iran 1 Ton of the gas. Coupled with its heavy water reactor in Natnaz, it is highly probable Iran already has several nuclear weapons. Again, this is called Military Deception Planning (MDP). The U.S. fell for MDP with Saddam and is falling for it with Iran. The U.S. has even gone as far as selling to Israel 500 "bunker buster" bombs that can be used to destroy nuclear facilities (read: in Iran). Next on the plate is Turkey, which is next in line to publicly go nuclear.

Here's the rundown on other countries already nuclear:
Pakistan has between 55-90 nuclear weapons.
India, Pakistan's rival, is not to be outdone with between 55 and 115 nuclear weapons.
Israel, on the other hand, has enough highly enriched uranium (HEU)to easily produce more than the 110-290 nukes already in their arsenal.
So, before you go to bed tonight, think of the above stats.
Oh, yes, one more stat to help you sleep soundly:
At the end of 2003 there were more than 3,700 metric tons of plutonium and HEU, enough to produce hundreds of thousands, yes, hundreds of thousands of nuclear weapons. This nuke material, ready to be put on a warhead, is scattered in more than 60 countries.

DON'T LIKE BUSH OR KERRY? VOTE RHINO.
The American voting mechanism is obsolete as shown by the disastrous 2000 presidential election and the comedy of chads, butterfly chads, etc. that emanated from Florida. The world, again, saw the U.S. as one crazed country.
But in Brazil, yes Brazil, which has what is arguably the most sophisticated voting system in the world things are different.
In their ancient voting system of the 90's, reminiscent of the U.S.'s system used today, most people that did not want any of the many Brazilian presidential hopefuls voted for Cacareco, the rhinoceros at the Sao Paulo zoo.

Voting in Brazil is also MANDATORY. If you do not vote you could be fined and you won't be able to get a passport or even start a business unless you have a very good reason for not showing up at the polling booth.
I use Brazil as an example because the U.S. ever since the crazed 2000 presidential election has been trying to revamp its voting system. All the feeble attempts have turned up disastrous.
But in Brazil their sophisticated state-of-the-art computerized voting system is the envy of the world.
It is quite simple. A small computer terminal in each voting booth allows voters to simply punch in the candidate's assigned number and then press the confirm button.
The vote is registered online and vote counting is computer quick.
Now this is in a country of 90 million people. So quickly after the voting booths are closed , the results of the winner is nearly instantaneous.
These computer terminals put an end to the ancient paper ballot in which many Brazilians customarily wrote messages on the ballot about what they thought of the state of the country. And these comments were reported to be very, very, colorful in content. Many were nasty and many Brazilians merely voted for a famous actor or soccer star.
There is , though, one item that Brazilian authorities do not like to mention and that is , besides the confirm button, there is also a blank button. Press that and you vote for NOBODY,.
But, helas, the U.S. is left with an ancient system. So instead of not voting: VOTE RHINOCEROS on November 2nd.
