PENTAGON AUDITORS "COOKED THE BOOKS" ACCORDING TO DEFENSE DEPARTMENT'S INSPECTOR GENERAL.

Pentagon auditors spent 1,139 (see how exact they are) altering their own files in order to pass an internal review. The Associated Press report details how the New York Office learned well in advance which files the review team would check and then spent the equivalent of more than 47 days doctoring the papers and updating the records from several audits, the Defense Department's Inspector General concluded. The fabrication was discovered in 2001, but the report was not disclosed until January 6, 2004.

The task of rewriting the files and deleting electronic backup files of original documents grew so large that auditors came in from other offices to help make the changes, costing the taxpayers more than $1,600 in travel expenses.

No one was disciplined since the "fall guy" resigned ahead of time.

The report said the agency employees believed that "upgrading" working papers was a normal and acceptable practice.

As tax time rolls around this April 15th. remember you may have to justify any discrepancies in your filings by saying: "I thought that upgrading my IRS return was normal and standard practice."

TERRORIST GALA D.C. FUNDRAISER TOMORROW NIGHT: DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY & FBI CLUELESS.

"Night of Solidarity with Iran"

Tomorrow night, Saturday, the Iranian-American Society of Northern Virginia is throwing a bash at D.C.'s Washington Convention Center. The "Group" along with many other Iranian-American Societies from So. California, Kansas City and other parts of the country have also jumped on the bandwagon for this "Charity Fundraiser" for the survivors of the earthquake in Bam, Iraq on December 26, 2003, which killed 30,000 people.

Seems like a good cause except when The Hill (The Newspaper for and About the U.S. Congress) started looking into the festivities , it found that the fundraiser was also raising funds for The Iranian Resistance which is a pseudonym for the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), a U.S. terrorist designated organization.

Of the 23 organizations listed as sponsors for the event, 17 are known MEK front groups. The Red Cross and La Leche League International have pulled their sponsorship. Loyola University of Chicago, a supposed sponsor, said it had "Absolutely Not" given its sponsorship to the event. Several others were also listed as sponsors without their knowledge.

A little history of the MEK. They had a falling out with the late Ayatollah Khomeini after being heavily involved with the Ayatollah's 1979 U.S. embassy seizure in Tehran. Deemed persona non grata in Iran, they were welcomed with open arms in Baghdad by Saddam Hussein. Hussein was so enamored with the group, he built them their own headquarters in the holy city of Falluja funded mostly from illegal profits from Iraqian smuggled gas/oil profits.

Fortunately, and amazingly, a U.S. Congressman, House Administration Chairman Robert Ney (R-Ohio), stepped in and asked Attorney General John Ashcroft to investigate the charity event. "The MEK is hiding behind earthquake victims," said Congressman Ney.

As for the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, spokesmen for each agency were not aware of Saturday's event and declined to comment on the sponsor groups.

NUCLEAR BOMB TRIGGERS OR KIDNEY STONE BLASTING TRIGGERS?: DUAL PURPOSE TECHNOLOGIES.

Recently a South-African based businessman, Asher Karni, was accused by U.S. authorities of smuggling nuclear bomb triggers, known as Triggered Spark Gaps.

A complicated maze of paperwork took the WMD triggers from Massachusetts through New Jersey to South Africa, and then on to the United Arab Emirates and eventually to Pakistan. But this not so clever arms dealer bought the triggers under the "ruse" of using them for medical purposes. In particular, the triggers are necessary in machines called lithotripters, a machine used to blast kidney stones.

Asher Karni's mistake was to order 200 of the triggers for his contact in Pakistan that wanted a total of 100-400 of the triggers. The American Manufacturer, PerkinElmer Optoelectron, was obviously suspicious since a hospital, at most, would need only a half dozen of the triggers. And how many people in Pakistan are really concerned about kidney stones with all the bloody fighting going on throughout the country? PerkinElmer immediately notified U.S. authorities which allowed the shipment of the triggers to proceed after they had been disabled and made useless. Thus, we will not have further nuclear bombs, for the moment, able to be armed for detonation by the U.S.'s friend in the battle against world terrorism, Pakistan.

Much has been said about dual purpose technologies and Matt Kelley's Article gives a rare insight into how a device that can be used to help in medicine can also be used in a WMD that can destroy the world.

It's also worthy to note that the UAE, widely known throughout the world as the transshipment point of anything to anywhere, refused to allow a U.S. official in Dubai to inspect the package at the warehouse in Dubai.

I'll relate everything to al-Qaeda in a moment, since everything that happens in the world these days has to be related to THEM. The statement above by the Sri Lankan President is the dream of every elected official in the world; and she did it.

In a secret swearing in ceremony held at an undisclosed location, the President just decided to extend her term in office another year from 2005 to 2006. With both President Bush's and Putin's elections coming up this year, November and March respectively, this clever idea would save a lot of time and arguments over dripping, sinking, etc. CHADS and all that goes with the circus called elections in any country. Now to the al-Qaeda part.

The Sri Lankan government has been in a constant fight for over twenty years with the Tamil Tigers. This is not a baseball, football, or cricket team; it is a rebel organization, that is very effective and well structured in its ongoing daily bloody war with the Government. This new twist by the President, self-election, has jeopardized the fragile peace process with the Tamil Tigers that was slowly taking shape between the two warring factions.

The Tamil Tigers staunchly deny being a terrorist organization or having any connection with al-Qaeda. In fact, the marine armed wing leader of the Tamil Tigers, the wing known as the Sea Tigers, strongly asserts that Osama bin Laden copied the Sea Tigers terrorist tactics from the Tamil Tigers.

There has been no word from any al-Qaeda spokesperson that this terrorist tactic against the USS Cole was a stolen terrorist maneuver.

LT.COL. ALAN KING SHOULD BE THE HEAD OF THE IRAQI COALITION PROVISIONAL AUTHORITY: HE UNDERSTANDS.

Lt. Col. Alan King Meets With Sheikh Hussein Ali al-Shaalan.

Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III should be ashamed of the fact he has not taken into serious consideration, from the start of his role in Iraq, to understand the 6,000 year old culture of Iraq, sometimes called the "Cradle of Civilization." Ambassador Bremer has a striking biography having lived as both a private citizen, while in school in Paris, and as the Ambassador to Norway, among his many other diplomatic postings. He speaks French, Dutch, and Norwegian. Col. King has his "Palm Pilot" and his Koran.

Col. King has made more headway in securing friendly relations with Iraq and the Iraqi people than all of the Bush Administration's people put together.

He understands. He takes the time to understand and personally meet with major Tribal and Clan Leaders in Iraq on a weekly basis. Col. King understands that these Tribal and Clan Leaders form the backbone of the Iraqi culture and its day to day operations. He is able to recite insightful, relevant passages of the Koran that allay these Tribal Leaders concerns about the U.S. Occupation Forces. He brings to the Iraqi people, as a military representative of the U.S., an attitude of seriously wanting to know and learn their culture. And he has done this all on his own.

This veteran of the Special Forces and Psychological Operations both in the Middle East and Latin America has finally been recognized for the extraordinary accomplishment he has made in bringing hope to the Tribal and Clan Leaders in Iraq who are all too wary of the U.S.'s true intentions for the future of Iraq. This recognition recently came in August in the form of a newly created position in Iraq: Special Assistant for Tribal Affairs, 352d. Civil Affairs Command.

"If the Americans heard our advice from the beginning - our repeated advice - all this chaos (in Iraq) wouldn't be happening now," says Sheikh Hussein Ali al-Shaalan.

Every week Col. King is off to another meeting with Tribal leaders, and he is winning these Leaders over, and therefore the people, with his own brand of honesty and true compassion for the Iraqi people and what they are going through since the Bush Administration's preemptive strike on their country in March, 2003.

This intellectual, scholarly soldier has a lot to teach the Suits who believe they can barge into a country with military might and win over the population, a scenario that was widely thought would happen after the Iraqi invasion. Words are inadequate to describe the milestone progress Col. King is bringing to the people of Iraq in the name of the United States.

THE FBI IS WARNING POLICE NATIONWIDE TO BE ALERT FOR PEOPLE CARRYING ALMANACS: THEY COULD BE USED FOR TERRORIST PLANNING.

This past Christmas Eve, while Christians around the world were preparing for the celebration of the birth of Jesus, the FBI sent a bulletin to about 18,000 police organizations warning them to be alert for people carrying almanacs (yes, almanacs.), cautioning that the popular reference books covering everything from abbreviations to weather trends could be used for terrorist planning.

Has former Admiral Poindexter been resurrected from his dramatic firing from DARPA to run the FBI? And, oh, yes, doesn't the FBI realize that the Almanac 2004 is #1 on the New York Times Top 10 Best Seller List. The FBI seems to have overlooked another book which is #7 on the NYT Top Ten Best Seller List: 1,000 Places To See Before You Die . Now that's a book that seems much more scarier than the 2004 Almanac. The quote by Freud above may be an omen as to the future of any book in America that could be targeted for police scrutiny. Is The Catcher In The Rye next?

PRESIDENT BUSH SIGNS LARGE PARTS OF PATRIOT ACT II; WHILE THE WORLD WATCHED THE SADDAM CAPTURE.

"Loss of Freedom Seldom Happens Overnight ... It Creeps Up Insidiously ... Step by Step, And All Of A Sudden The Unfortunate Citizen Realizes That It Is Gone." Baron Lane (b. 1918), British Judge, Lord Chief Justice of England, quoted in the Independent February 3, 1990.

On December 13, while the world was glued to their televisions watching the incredible capture of Saddam Hussein; President Bush became so overwhelmed with joy that he pulled out his pen and without a word signed into law a bill that takes away many more of the average American Citizen's Freedoms that had already been lost in Patriot Act I . Remember, this was on a Saturday. The last time President Bush signed a bill on a Saturday was over a year ago and was necessary to keep the U.S. federal government from shutting down Monday.

No newspaper that day seemed to pick up that drastic loss of freedom bill that was inacted. Seems Bush and his Congressional allies tucked away these new executive draconian powers under the guise of the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004.

This new law, that was passed by Congress around Thanksgiving ( the Senate passed it with a voice vote to avoid individual accountability ) redefines, for one thing, what a "financial institution" is. While a normal person thinks it is a bank, in the U.S. a financial institution now also includes stockbrokers, car dealerships, casinos, credit card companies, insurance agencies, jewelers, airlines, the U.S. post office and any other business "whose cash transactions have a high degree of usefulness in criminal, tax, or regulatory matters."

But the Act does not just stop there. Suddenly there is the "National Security Letter". The FBI now needs no judge, has a gag order attached to it, and the FBI is not required to report to Congress, or, frankly, anyone as to how and why the "Letter" was used.

This is the FBI's Carte Blanche to raid anyone's financial records that they want to, even if the targeted individual has no connection to criminal or terrorist activity, i.e. "due process of law" is thrown out the window.

Of course, the Bush administration refuses to answer key questions about its latest constitutional coup. The news article link above is scary to say the least.
