As Easter approaches, it's appropriate to talk about Jesus' greatest temptation and the Vatican's current response for the desperate need for certified Exorcists throughout the world.
After recent rumblings over the past several months, it was recently confirmed through Reuters and other world news agencies that Regina Apostolorum, one of Rome's most prestigious pontifical universities has begun a basic 101 course leading to priestly certification as exorcists

We all know that sex sells, and now the Church is concerned about the selling of SATAN through heavy metal bands, the media through films such as the 1973 "The Exorcist," and through the internet.

In Italy alone it is believed that there are roughly 5,000 members of satanic cults.
A bit of history. The world satan is Hebrew and means to be hostile toward, to attack, to act as an adversary.
Satan is first used in the Book of Job. "Satan" is used 34 times in the Gospels. "The Devil" occurs 36 times in the New Testatment. Fourteen times in the Gospels.
Please note, the power of satan is NOT omnipotent. Opposing the devil's activities are the powers granted to man by God as written in both the Old and New Testaments.
Enough about history, onward to the exorcist course at the Vatican.
The course lasts 8 weeks and will deal specifically with the "theoretical and practical" part of exorcisms.
The world's most famous exorcist, 79 year old Rev. Gabriele Amorth , is not participating in the program but says: "it's very positive. I hope it will increase the number of exorcists."
And nowhere are exorcists more needed than in the United States where the shortage is very serious with fewer than a dozen official exorcists.
